Jockims off to Nunavut for coaching clinic
Saskatoon, SK - Saskatchewan Huskies men's basketball head coach Greg Jockims is heading up north this weekend. Jockims is going to the territory of Nunavut, speaking at Kugluktuk High School's athletic awards banquet and holding both a players and coaches clinic. The invitation came from teacher and coach Gary Kennedy, who is one of Jockims' former players from Cape Breton University.
In his eighth year at the helm of the men's program, Jockims has been putting on coaching and player clinics across Saskatchewan for years, but this will be the first time going outside the province.
"It should be a unique and interesting experience," said Jockims. "Certainly it's a positive for Huskie Athletics to have a coach in Nunavut, raising awareness for people in that area of both Huskie Athletics and the University of Saskatchewan."
The athletic awards banquet will take place on Thursday, April 27th, with the players clinic on the following Friday. The coaches clinic will run Friday night through Saturday.
