Grant hits milestone and school record

Saskatoon, SK - Kyle Grant reached a career milestone and set a school record during Saskatchewan's game last Friday night at Manitoba.

Grant
Grant, a fifth-year senior guard from Moose Jaw, became only the fifth Huskie in the program's history to score 2000 career points. He reached the milestone on a three-pointer, his eighth of the game, with 2:37 remaining in the fourth quarter. Grant finished the game with 30 points. He added another 15 points on Saturday night at Winnipeg, bringing his career total to 2015.

With six seconds left in the game at Manitoba, Grant nailed his ninth three of the night, setting a school record for most three-pointers made in a single game. It was also his 16th attempt from beyond the arc, also a school record.

His nine three's also tied the Canada West Conference record shared by John Vigna (Calgary), Aaron Olson (Victoria) and Brian Banman (Trinity Western).

Darrin Rask and David Karwacki previously shared the school record for three's in a game with eight. Sam Lamontagne held the record for attempts with 15.

Grant is closing in on Rask's career record for made three's of 260. Entering Friday night's game against Trinity Western he has 256 career three-pointers.
