Glover named CIS athlete of the week
In Sunday’s 106-93 victory, Glover scored an impressive 50 points, had three rebounds, eight assists and six steals in 39 minutes of play. With the half-century point total Glover set a new school record, previously held by Byron Tokarchuk, and put himself fifth on the Canada West all-time single-game point total list. He is the first Canada West men’s player to score 50 or more in a conference game since 1997.
During that record-breaking performance, he was 17-28 from the floor including 8-11 from three-point territory, and 8-9 from the free throw line.
A night later, in an 86-77 win, he scored 22 points, grabbed two rebounds, and dished out six assists and three steals in 40 minutes.
The Arts & Science student from Fresno, California leads Canada West in scoring averaging 26.0 points per game, which ranks second in the nation behind Ryerson's Boris Bakovic (26.6 ppg).
Glover, a 5-foot-11 junior guard, was also named the Canada West athlete of the week.
The Huskies (11-11, 6-6 Canada West) are now in second place in the Central Division, and are in Calgary this weekend for a pair of games with the first-place Dinos (15-7, 10-2).
