Huskies lose to Bobcats in high scoring tilt
BRANDON, MB - Showron Glover was billed as the main attraction, but it was Dany Charlery who stole the show.
The 4th year Brandon guard poured in a season-high 33 points to lift the Bobcats to a 99-86 victory over the Saskatchewan Huskies in Canada West men's basketball action Friday night at the BU Gym.
All eyes were focused on Glover coming into the contest; however the Saskatchewan guard and top scorer in the conference was held to just 15 points on 6-14 shooting from the field. Glover did manage 10 assists, but that statistic was evened out by his 10 turnovers.
Bobcats guard Rejean Chabot, who tallied 19 points (on 9-12 shooting from the field), 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 4 steals in his first game against his former
team. Andrew Lomond added 10 points for BU, while Tarik Tokar dished out 13 assists. Troy Gottselig paced the Saskatchewan attack with 19 points and 5 boards, while Mac Fairbarn and Dan Brudehl added 13 and 12 points respectively.
Brandon (7-8) has now won three straight conference games for the first time this season, while the Huskies (6-9) have lost three in a row.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday night when they host the Alberta Golden Bears, while the Huskies travel to Regina to meet the University of Regina Cougars Saturday.
