High School: Played for coach Neal Foreman at Argyle Secondary in North Vancouver... Was a three-year starter for the Pipers senior squad... As a senior was a team captain... Led the team to second place finish in the Howe Sound League... Finished third at the Howe Sound AAA Championships... Team ranked as high as No. 11 in province... Was named First Team All-Howe Sound... Played in the BC High School All-Star game... Led the team and league in scoring with 26.5 points per game... Also led squad in rebounding with 7.3 per game... Averaged 3.3 assists and 2.9 steals a game... Scored 34 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a 67-63 victory over No. 1-ranked Handsworth on February 15, 2007... Scored 33 points and had 12 boards vs. Delta Seaquam on January 17, 2007... Had 30 points in game vs. Lasalle (ON) Sandwich on December 27, 2006... Named First Team All-Tournament at the University of Windsor Invitational... Was Second Team All-Tournament at the North Shore Invitational... Won the Quinn Keast Memorial Most Complete Player Award and the North Shore Sports Athletic Leadership Award... As a junior helped lead the team to third place finish in the Howe Sound league... Was named First Team All-Howe Sound... Led team in scoring with 22.0 points per game... Also led the team in rebounding with 8.0 per contest... Was Honourable Mention All-Tournament at the STM Chancellor Basketball Tournament... As a sophomore helped team finish with a 35-3 overall record under head coach Glen Chu... Averaged eight points and six rebounds per game... Team was ranked No. 2 nationally and No. 1 in the province... Team won Howe Sound Championship over Handsworth... Had 14 points, including eight of team's ten points in overtime, and eight rebounds to lead them to victory in title game... Pipers were upset by Nanaimo Wellington in first game of AAA Provincial Championships... Will graduate in June of 2007.
Personal: Born August 27, 1989 in North Vancouver... Parents are Luther Fairbairn and Janis Alden... Janis was a high jumper on the track and field team at UBC... Has three older sisters, Emily, Miriam and Sophie... Four former high school teammates are playing CIS basketball, Sean Burke and Kevin Shaw (Simon Fraser), Sinclair Brown and Ben Frisby (Waterloo)... Says his favourite players are Ray Allen and Anthony Parker... Favourite NBA team is the Toronto Raptors... Will enroll in the College of Arts & Science.
