Huskies: Jim committed to the Dogs the first week of April, 2004... Is a good ballhandler and passer... Spent most of his time at the point guard position in high school... Can hit the three as well as get to the hoop... Is a good leaper... Also able to post up to take advantage of his size... Will most likely redshirt as a freshman.

High School: Played for coach Kelly Klassen at Carlton Comprehensive in Prince Albert... Played four years for the Crusaders senior squad... As a senior was a team captain... Crusaders lost in the small cities regional quarter-finals, 61-57 to North Battleford Comprehensive... Scored 27 points in that playoff loss... Averaged 26 points per game as a point guard, as well as over 10 rebounds a game... Led team in scoring, rebounding and assists... Named First Team All-Rural by the Saskatoon StarPhoenix as on of the best players in the province outside of Saskatoon or Regina... Season-high was 37 points... Was an All-Star at numerous tournaments... As a junior led the Crusaders to the Provincial Championships, where they lost to eventual runner-up Saskatoon Evan Hardy in the quarter-finals by three points... Scored 34 points in that game... Averaged 24 points a contest, and also added over 10 rebounds a game... Set a career-high with 42 points in one game... Led team in scoring and assists... As a sophomore came off the bench as the team's sixth man... Had season-highs of 24 points and 16 rebounds... Played his club basketball with the Junior Huskies... Graduated in June of 2004.

Personal: Born October 26, 1986 in Prince Albert, SK... Parents are Tom and Sue Guidinger... Is the youngest of five children... Sisters are Dawn, Joy and Leah... Brother is Craig... Leah, who will be a senior in 2005-06, plays volleyball at the University of Maine... One of Leah's teammates with the Black Bears is junior Justine Chabot, sister of current Huskie guard Rejean Chabot... Cousin Chad Guidinger is a backup linebacker with the Huskies football team... Has made the Academic Honour Roll all four years in high school... Also was an outstanding volleyball player in high school... Likes to play the guitar, and go snowboarding and wakeboarding in his spare time... Lists "Pistol" Pete Maravich as one of his all-time favourite players... Says the Chicago Bulls are his favourite team.
