Mark Thompson   Guard 6'4", 195 lbs. Junior Commerce Saskatoon, SK St. Joseph

Huskies: Mark has progressed quickly after being moved to the point guard spot during the summer of 2002... His size and court sense make him an excellent passer and he has developed a knack for hitting big shots... Always a good three-point shooter, he is improving his play off the dribble... Worked hard on the fitness programs with the High Performance Center this summer and has become stronger and more athletic for the second consecutive year. 2001-02: Spent the season practicing with the Dogs as a redshirt... Was named to the Huskie Athletics Royal Bank All-Academic Second Team, for having an average of at least 75% over a minimum of 24 credit units for the academic year. High School: Played for coach Scott Hundseth at St. Joseph High School in Saskatoon... Played four years for the Guardians senior team... As a senior, led the Guardians to a third place finish at the Provincial Championships after being city-finalists... Led the team in scoring since he was in the tenth grade, scoring 19 ppg as a senior... Named First Team All-City by the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix... Won numerous tournament MVP and All-Star awards as a junior and senior... Was a three year captain for the Guardians... Graduated in June of 2001. Personal: Born July 28, 1983 in Saskatoon, SK...Parents are John and Patricia Thompson... Has one older brother, Andrew... Is enrolled in the College of Arts & Science... Favourite NBA team is the Dallas Mavericks... Says Ricky Davis of the Cleveland Cavaliers is his favourite player.
